Sculptor

Biography
Nevine Farghaly is an Egyptian sculptor and artist. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Applied Arts (1997) and a master's degree and PhD from Helwan University (2001, 2007), where she is currently a professor of spatial and formative design.
Backed by her academic pursuits, Farghaly's work explores figurative elements with a deep awareness of materiality and technical mastery. Her sculptures take many forms — human and animal — and her process, spontaneous and joyful, sets simple figurative forms against intricate, detailed metalwork. Her practice spans a wide range of scales, from zany miniature sculptures to life-size installations.
Farghaly has participated in numerous exhibitions regionally and internationally, including the Beijing Biennale (2017, 2019) and the Venice Biennale (2010).
